TURKEY MEATBALLS PASTA RECIPE:

FOR MEATBALLS:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 8 oz pasta of your choice
- 2 cups Homemade Simple Pasta Sauce (see recipe below)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Prepare the Turkey Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese and dried oregano. Mix until well combined. Roll the mixture into small meatballs.
Cook the Pasta: Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Turkey Meatballs: In a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of olive oil. Once hot, add the turkey meatballs and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
Add Homemade Simple Pasta Sauce: Pour the Homemade Simple Pasta Sauce into the skillet with the cooked meatballs. Stir to combine and let simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
Combine Pasta and Meatballs: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the meatballs and sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the sauce.
FOR THE SAUCE:
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Sauté Garlic: In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add Tomatoes: Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine with the garlic.
Season: Add dried basil and dried oregano. Stir well to incorporate.
Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken.
Serve the turkey meatballs pasta in bowls, garnished with fresh basil leaves. Enjoy this comforting and delicious homemade meal with your family!
